The Baltic Sea Anomaly

Documented

The documented image

Ocean X team's sidescan sonar image is real and shows a round feature with a long track behind it. Divers reported a circular formation and right-angle structures and recovered samples of limonite and goethite, common in glacial till. Stockholm University geologists stated the samples are consistent with rocks dumped by retreating ice. No metal, no technology, no artifacts were recovered.

Assessment: Every recovered sample is ordinary seabed.
Stories

The Millennium Falcon

The team's own statements fed the legend: equipment failures near the site, a staircase-like structure, and speculation about a sunken UFO or Atlantis ruin, amplified by the fact that Ocean X is a commercial venture selling publicity for wreck exploration.

Assessment: The business model runs on ambiguity.
Interesting claims

The pareidolia depth

The structural lesson: sidescan sonar renders texture, not shape, and at this resolution a circle is a suggestion. The anomaly is a clean demonstration of how low-resolution data plus a motivated narrator manufactures a monument, the same engine as the Face on Mars, but underwater.

Assessment: The saucer is made of pixels.

Worth asking

When a blurry circle appears on sonar, why does the answer arrive before the dive?
