Stratton's career is documented: defense intelligence senior executive, civilian equivalent of a two-star general, eight deployments, co-founder of AAWSAP at the DIA, later tapped to run AATIP, then named first director of the UAP Task Force in 2020. In October 2024 the Director of National Intelligence awarded him and the task force the National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation, the first time a government UAP program received national recognition.

The eyewitness claim
Stratton's public claim, repeated ahead of his 2026 memoir: he personally saw non-human craft and non-human beings during his tenure, and discovered what he calls an 80-year coverup reaching past Congress and presidents. No physical evidence has accompanied the claim; it is testimony, however senior the witness.
Assessment: Interesting: the claim is unverified, but the claimant is the highest-ranked one yet, and that asymmetry is the whole story.

The continuity figure
The observation that made Stratton the center of the disclosure world: he is the single thread running through every modern program, AAWSAP to AATIP to UAPTF, and David Grusch was among his hand-picked team members. Critics note the same continuity means the claims mostly circulate inside one small group of colleagues citing each other.
Assessment: Interesting: one network, two readings. Coordinated suppression of truth, or a closed loop of believers. AARO's 2024 historical report argued the loop.
