Enlil and Enki

EN-lil and EN-kee
The two senior Anunnaki of the Atrahasis epic, the commander who sends the flood and the engineer who warns the human, the conflict Wallis reads as the Eden story's source code.
Documented

The Atrahasis file

Documented in the Atrahasis epic (Old Babylonian, c. 18th century BC): the junior gods, the Igigi, refuse the labor; Enki and the mother goddess fashion workers from clay mixed with a slain god's flesh; humanity multiplies; Enlil, afflicted by the noise, sends plague, drought, then the flood; Enki warns Atrahasis, who survives in a boat. Enlil and Enki are likewise the paired authority-and-craft poles across Sumerian literature, Enlil decreeing fates at Nippur, Enki holding the me, the arts of civilization, at Eridu.

Assessment: The epic and the two gods' portfolios are documented tablets, translatable line by line. They are mythology; the question the wing exists to ask is mythology of what.
Stories

The two-faction reading

The folk synthesis, Wallis's and the ancient-astronaut circuit's: Enlil and Enki as rival administrators, one for the labor program's containment, one for its uplift, their quarrel over human consciousness and freedom echoed in the serpent-versus-commander structure of Eden, where the serpent's crime is Enki's: unauthorized knowledge transfer.

Assessment: The structural mapping is real and striking. Structural mapping is also how constellations get drawn; the documented tablets support the quarrel, not the administrators.
Interesting claims

The warden and the smuggler

The claim, the gnostic retrofit: Enlil is the Demiurge's local prefect, Enki the serpent of the Apocryphon, the flood as the wardens' reset and the boat as the first documented jailbreak. The King List's handover after the flood reads, on this account, as the prison's administrative reform.

Assessment: The gnostic texts do carry a flood-and-rescue with exactly this polarity. Whether the Sumerian original encodes the same jailbreak is the claim, filed with its parallels and its gap.
